The Beginning

Patrick (Pat) and Evelyn Thompson

Pat and Evelyn dedicated their lives to Christ in 1974. Two years later, in 1976, they began their ministry journey. At that time, Pat was employed offshore but felt a clear calling from God to step out in faith and enter full-time ministry. Despite the challenges of family and financial responsibilities, confirmation came during a church service when an evangelist prophesied that it was time to take that step of obedience.

Soon after, Pat left his job to plant a church. During the process, they discovered the need for a nonprofit tax number, which led to the founding of the Patrick Thompson Evangelistic Association. From the beginning, their vision was to see the ministry grow into an international outreach—impacting nations through preaching, writing, music, and other forms of ministry.

Moving Forward

Patrick (Packy) and Janet Thompson

In 1997, Pat went home to be with the Lord, and his son Patrick (Packy) and daughter-in-law Janet stepped in to carry the vision forward. Continuing the work Pat and Evelyn began, they devoted themselves to evangelism and missions, expanding the reach of the ministry in new ways.

Janet began producing worship CDs that spread the message of hope and faith through music, while Packy carried on the heart of evangelism through tent revivals and outreach events across the region- later to join the creative side as a published author.

In 2002, they renamed the ministry Patrick Thompson Ministries (PTM) to reflect the new season of growth and outreach. Since then, PTM has become deeply rooted in missions work—partnering with churches and organizations around the world. Packy and Janet have led or supported near-annual mission trips to countries such as Kenya, Peru, and others, continuing to share the Gospel and meet needs abroad.

Through their church, Bayou Blue Assembly- where they have pastored for 30+ years-and their outreach business, Missions Possible Thrift Store, they’ve helped give millions of dollars toward missions efforts—fueling the original vision of reaching the nations with the love of Jesus.

Going Global

Amanda Thompson

In 2021, the next generation stepped into leadership as Amanda Thompson, Packy and Janet’s daughter, accepted the call to carry the vision of Patrick Thompson Ministries forward. Having grown up surrounded by missions and ministry, Amanda had long felt God’s call on her life to serve the nations. Over the years, she built meaningful global connections that have become key to the ministry’s expanding reach.

From 2021 to 2024, Amanda served full-time in Southeast Asia, working alongside local pastors, leading discipleship efforts, and helping strengthen communities through faith-based outreach. She also led teams from the United States to serve internationally, creating hands-on mission experiences that empower others to live out the Great Commission.

Amanda integrates her background in pastoral counseling into every aspect of her global ministry, providing encouragement, healing, and guidance to those she serves. Alongside her missionary work, she continues to write and publish music, using worship as a bridge between cultures and as a way to share the hope of Jesus.

Today, Amanda travels both internationally and throughout the United States, ministering through home missions, evangelism, and worship. Under her leadership, Patrick Thompson Ministries continues its original vision—to reach the nations, equip the church, and see lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
