OUR TEAM

Amanda Thompson

Hey there! I’m Amanda, and I have the joy of leading Patrick Thompson Ministries.

I’m a pastor’s kid, so I grew up in church, but for a long time salvation didn’t feel personal—I hadn’t fully surrendered. That changed in 2014 when, at 14 years old, I gave my life to God.

Ministry was always spoken over me, even before I was born, so part of me knew I was called. But in 2017, during a missions trip to New Orleans at Mardi Gras, I finally accepted my call to the nations.

I joined the staff at Bayou Blue Assembly in 2018, the same year I started Bible college at SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary. God opened several doors for missions during that time, including an internship in Kenya.

In 2021, I stepped into full-time missions, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to serve in eight different countries! I hold a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Global Missions (SUM), a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling (Liberty University), and I’m an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.

On a personal note— Family means the world to me, and I have a passion for discipling youth. I’m a big fan of Hot Cheetos, Swedish candy, and Christmas. I love being outdoors, especially by the water or on a rooftop. I live by the idea that laughter is necessary, not optional.

Patrick Thompson

Patrick “Packy” Thompson has served as the lead pastor of Bayou Blue Assembly of God for 32 years and is the president of Patrick Thompson Ministries. An ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, he has faithfully served his state in various leadership roles and continues to pour into pastors, churches, and communities. He is also a published author and ministers regularly at Angola State Penitentiary, sharing the hope of the gospel with men behind the walls.

Ministry runs deep in the Thompson family. Packy inherited this ministry from his father, and in time, he passed the day-to-day operations to his daughter, Amanda—walking with her not only as a dad, but as a pastor and mentor.

Together with his wife, Janet, Packy remains a steady pillar in the Houma, Louisiana community, shining the light of Christ and offering hope to people from all walks of life. Both have a deep love for missions and have led and participated in outreaches around the world, carrying the same heart for the nations that has marked the Thompson family for generations.

Janet Thompson

Janet Thompson has been Packy's partner in both marriage and ministry from the very beginning. A lifelong worship leader, she turned down a secular record deal at 16 to follow God’s call, dedicating her voice and heart to leading others into His presence.

She has served faithfully as Worship Pastor at Bayou Blue Assembly of God and has recorded several worship CDs that continue to encourage believers around the world.

Alongside Packy, Janet has participated in numerous mission trips around the world—sharing the Gospel through music, ministry, and a life fully surrendered to God’s purpose. She also leads the Missions Possible Thrift Store, which raises thousands for missions every weekend.

Janet is a foundational pillar of conviction that holds together the people and communities she is a part of.
